To meet future healthcare challenges, we are establishing Norway’s first university nursing home. This initiative aims to advance municipal health and care services, similar to how university hospitals have enhanced medicine and specialized healthcare. Insights from Agder will be scalable nationwide, serving as a regional springboard for national development.
The university nursing home will unite healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, students, volunteers, service users, their next of kin and the business community. Together, they will focus on research, education and developing the services of tomorrow. Across service levels. From home to nursing home.
The location was selected in March 2024, with plans underway for its size and contents. It is expected to be operational between 2029 and 2031.
